Brick Haven House of Music

The Arts District's Best Stage. Every Weekend, Something Worth Hearing.

The Brick Haven House of Music occupies a converted warehouse on Ironwork Lane in the Arts District, three blocks from the river. The building was a machine shop before it was a music venue, and the industrial bones are still visible: exposed steel trusses, original brick walls, a loading dock that became the venue's back entrance. It holds about four hundred people when the floor is open, fewer when there are tables, more when the crowd doesn't care about the fire code, which is most good nights.

The Venue

The stage is bigger than it looks from the back of the room, which is a point of local pride. The sound system was installed by a sound engineer who claims to have worked with every band worth working with, and whose only consistent rule is that the kick drum goes through the floor, not the PA. Regulars agree this is correct. The bar runs the full length of the north wall. The lights are almost always turned down too low, which is how it should be.

The House of Music is operated in partnership with Brick Haven Music, the city's independent record label. Most of the acts on the Brick Haven Music roster have played the House at some point. Most of them would rather play here than anywhere else in the city.

Resident Artists

The Bricktones are the venue's most consistent headliners. Their sound is horn-driven and tight, the kind of band that has clearly played together long enough to know what each other is going to do and has decided to do it harder anyway. Their debut album Built Different (July 2026) is out now on all major platforms. Their sets run predictably long and nobody ever complains.

The Brickensteins are harder to categorize. Their sound is monstrously good rock 'n' roll with a theatrical edge, and their sets tend toward the experimental end of things. They have been known to play the same song three times in a single set, each version different enough from the last that the audience doesn't notice until someone points it out afterward. Their annual Fright Night Live! show on October 31st has become a House of Music tradition.

More artists are on the way. The lineup is still being assembled. Check back for announcements, or just show up on a Friday and see what's on the marquee.

In the Diorama

Building the House of Music

The House of Music is one of the signature builds in the Arts District section of the Brick Haven diorama. The interior is lit, the marquee signs are functional, and the loading dock scene out back has more detail than anyone asked for. It is, as all the best diorama builds are, a love letter to a place that doesn't technically exist but feels like it should.
